Ways to *Spice* Up Your Life

In the United States, most students are currently on their summer break. Typically, that would mean hours of soaking up the summer sun, making lemonade, drawing with chalk outside, and going to festivals with your best friends.

This summer, however, things are a little different. We haven't been able to see our friends as often and we need to take precautions whenever we do come in contact with others. Events have been cancelled and places have been shut down temporarily (although they are opening up now!).

You may want to change some things up in your life. After all, most of us have all the time in the world to do so. You've come to the perfect place - here are 10 ways to *spice* up your life.

  1. Create new "microhabits" - this may be anything from reading a chapter a day from a classic to eating one more helping of vegetables for dinner

  2. Rearrange the furniture in your bedroom - I did this recently and I really liked the outcome! It cleared up a lot of space in my room

  3. Redecorate your room - we highly recommend this: https://diyprojectsforteens.com/diy-room-decor-ideas-teens/

  4. Start a new workout program - try some yoga or buy some resistance bands off of Amazon

  5. Use some new beauty products - don't forget to check out the reviews and make sure that it is safe to use before purchasing!

  6. Listen to a different genre of music - many people are limited to just a few genres that they don't like to open their minds to something else

  7. Change your hair - you can add highlights, cut it short, or dye it temporarily! It may be shocking at first but we know you'll love the new look

  8. Rearrange your schedule - switch up the order of the tasks that you do every day. For example, instead of working out late at night, make it be the first thing in the morning

  9. Buy some new outfits - if you think about it, we have probably spent a lot less money during this quarantine than during normal conditions. Put together some outfits that you really like and don't hesitate to buy it. Having a new wardrobe is so fun!

  10. And finally ... start a new project! This could be making a giant collage or creating a bullet journal that you write in every day. You may not like it at first, but stick to it for a few weeks. It may start to grow on you and become part of your every day life. If not, that's totally okay! Try something else until you find the activity that is perfect for you :)
