Favorite book that you have read this summer (so far)? Oo...that's hard! I always have a hard time choosing between books. But most recently I re-read The Selection Series by Kiera Cass. I realised I had forgot most of it and it was so refreshing to read it again and I loved it! Can you describe that book a little? Sure! The Selection Series is a dystopian trilogy by Kiera Cass. I know a book shouldn't be judged by it's cover by this series have the most beautiful covers that'll make you buy them right away! The world of Selection is divided by caste. The story revolves around America Singer, who grew up living in the fifth caste in the province of Carolina at their home and loved her best friend, Aspen. However, a selection is going on, to choose a bride and future queen for the Royal Prince Maxon. For the 35 girls chosen for this selection, this was a dream, to live in a palace and rule. But for America, this was a nightmare. Because this meant the end of her secret relationship with Aspen. When America meets Prince Maxon, she starts to question herself and her future. The selection is hilarious, mysterious, romantic and so lovely! What book(s) are you currently reading? Do you like it so far? Just two days back, I finished The Great Gatsby and I loved it! Currently I am reading two books. First is Emma by Jane Austen. I'm just at the start of it so I haven't thought much about it. The other is Wardens Of Archos of Sarina Langer. Wardens Of Archos is the second book in The Relics Of Ar'zac series and it's totally mind blowing just like the first book. So many mysteries are unfolding and it's so exciting. I was supposed to finish this book a long time back but I got tons of work which delayed it. Have you reread any books recently? Oh yes! I recently re-read some books because of the plague and for my safety I'm trying not to order too many books (it's really hard to control myself, lol) Apart from the selection series, which felt like I read it for the first time since I had forgotten most of it, I re-read Percy Jackson and Heroes Of Olympus series which will be my all time favourite. Rick Riordan had announced that the PJO series are getting a TV Series on Disney+ on I thought this will be a good timw for a re-read! Favorite book(s) of all time? I don't like choosing between books, haha. But I secretly do prefer some books. The Trylle Trilogy consisting of Switched, Torn and Ascend by Amanda Hocking are my favourite books. These were the first YA books I ever read. Over the years, I re-read them from time to time. I love the character development, how each character is defined, how the story goes on, all the plot twists and the book never gets boring. This book has inspired me in so many ways. My other favourite series is Percy Jackson and The Olympian series. I mean it when I say that these books are the absolute glory and the best books out there. The humor in these books crack me up to a next level. And these are based on Greek Mythology and the myths are retold in such a creative way that sometimes I think that Rick Riordan might be one if the greek gods himself! I have reread these books so many times that I can actually recite each qoute! The Fallen series by Lauren Kate might have earned a spot in my favorite books because the first book of the series were so mind blowing, but I felt the series downgrading a bit with each book and the ending was a big turn off. It was so unsatisfying. Favorite character(s) of all time? I feel like I know millions of characters, it's so hard to choose! I love Percy from Percy Jackson because of his top level sass and sarcasm. I like Tove from Switched because he was displayed as a really weird guy and I like how calm and sweet he is. Then, there is Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. I love her! Favorite book turned into a movie? I'm absolutely against turning books to movies. Somehow, the directors always find a way a ruin them. Just look at Percy Jackson movies. I feel like the directors just took the names of main characters and then went along a completely new plot line. They didn't even got the basic mythology right! Harry Potter movies are the only movies I have watched that follows the plot line in a good way. And that's probably because JK rowling herself directed them. The Maze Runner movies were partly different from the books, but the plot they follow in Maze Runner movies is also pretty good so I forgive their directors. Name an underrated book. There are so many underrated books in this world that deserves the attention of everyone. Watersong series by Amanda Hocking are very under rated. There's also an humor book called 'Pause' by CJ Adler. That book is so funny and so underrated. Favorite genre? Why? I have always liked YA fantasy fiction. They seem to get to me more than any other. I can sometimes relate to the Young Adult part and the fantasy-fuction genre takes me to a completely different world if imagination and possiblities. I know it's weird but they kind of give me hope. I also like the genre humor because everyone can use a good light funny book. Are you in any book clubs? If so, would you recommend being in one? Just recently I got in my first book club, 'Let's get classical book club' where we read books by classical authors. The read of June was 'The Great Gatsby.' Over month of being a bookstagrammer I had realised that the bookstagram community is the most welcoming community out there. We all support and follow each each irrespective of someone's popularity. A book club community is even more supportive and welcoming! It's fun to have discussions or to have a read along. Conversations flow naturally. I would definitely recommend being in a book club! Paperback, hardcover, or online books? I don't usually like online books. The happiness of holding a fresh new book in your hands is too good! I always prefer hardcover, because they look so good, but I mostly own paperbacks because they are pocket friendly. Favorite thing to drink/eat while reading? Confession time: I actually prefer not to eat or drink near book because I always worry my clumsy self will end up spilling and ruining the book, so I rarely ever eat near books. Sometimes I eat potato chips while reading. Favorite place to read a book? I always read on my beside a cute, small window which shines sunlight directly on the book pages. I love to read there! Prefer reading at the library or at home? I prefer reading in the comfort of my home because I can scream 'Oh my god!' really loud there without people staring at me, lol. What book are you planning to read next? As soon as I am done woth my current reads, I'll be reading 'Tweet Cute' by Emma Lord. What book world would you like to live in? Definitely Percy Jackson world in Camp Half Blood. A cool summer camp, demigods and gods with coolest powers. I would love to control water. What is your favorite book belonging to classic literature? I had never read classical literature before. I know that's surprising but I don't like the writing style of classical literature. But, I have heard that the stories are great, so this is partly a reason I joined a classical book club. To get more insight to classical literature. I have only read The Great Gatsby so far and it was actually 'Great' so I'll go with that! If you could meet any character from a book, who would it be? I want to meet Apollo fron trials of Apollo! If you could meet any author, who would it be? Definitely Amanda Hocking or Rick Riordan. Or maybe JK Rowling (I have some serious questions to ask her.) Why do you love to read?
I get completely lost in books. There is so much going around in real life and sometimes you need an escape from the real world. Reading about characters, their complicated life and their stories, sometimes inspire me. Sometimes they make me laugh and sometimes it's just nice to know the story. I have curious nature and these stories basically feed my curiosity.
Thank you so much for this opportunity! It was lovely doing this interview with you!! ❤❤
